In September, Valley Elementary had a fundraiser, sponsored by Booster. The school raised their goal amount in under a week, and then surpassed their goal in the following week. What motivated the Bulldogs to fund so much money? Well, there were three reasons. First, the reward store. The Booster reward store is an online site where students got to pick prizes according to the money they donated. Second, the regular (and some irregular) benefits of the fundraiser, including field trips, special events, soccer goals, and even gaga pits! Last but not least, there was Great Wolf Lodge. Every student that logged on to mybooster.com was entered into a lottery for a free overnight stay at Great Wolf Lodge. But there was one hack; the more money each student donated, the more chances that student got in the lottery. At the end of the fundraiser, students got the best-or supposedly worst- of it all: The Fun Run. After the fundraiser, students competed for the Golden Shoe Award. The Golden Shoe Award was given to the boy and girl in each grade who ran the most laps around a course in the field west of the school. Don’t worry it was on school grounds. Students had lots of fun with the Fun Run, learning about character, and getting donations. Thank you for your donations, past, present, and future!
According to Zara, “Kids from Valley Elementary worked hard to reach their goal. Instead, they raised more. The school was very proud.”
Nora and Emily said, “Thanks to parents for donating, and for the parent volunteers that helped with the Fun Run.”
